LOVE LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

As I typed these words I realized this is a passage I need to read at the start of each day.  It's probably not a bad idea to read it before I make a phone call, sit down for a chat with one of my children, have a talk about something with my husband, or when I visit family members.

How are we loving those around us?  Are you patient with your children?  Are you kind to your husband?  Do the members of your family know they are loved?

As women we are many things, mothers, wives, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, friends, daughters in law, mothers in law, etc.  God's word tells us to love one another.  How are we loving the others in our lives?

We need to take a serious look at how we are loving. Do you gossip?  Do you hold a grudge?  Are you stubborn?  Do you put others first?  Stop believing the world's lie to put yourself first! ( J.O.Y. is Jesus, others, yourself)  Are you happy when things go wrong for someone else?

Think about your children, your husband, your grandchildren, your neighbor....Do you smile?  Do you ask about their day?  Do you check on them?  Do you show you are interested in their lives?  Do you help your husband, or list off how he could be a better help to you?  Do your children feel loved?  Do you forgive easily?  Do you find time to do things for others each day or just look out for yourself?  Do your friends know they are loved and appreciated?  Do you make your home a loving place to be? Does everyone feel welcome there?

We need to be the best wives, mothers, grandmothers, friends, sisters, daughters we can be.  Every day we need to LOVE.  Don't waste any time!  All that really matters in this life is our relationship with God and our relationships with others.  When we are old what will truly matter?  How much money we have?  How the house looks?  The relationships we have are all that truly matter in this life.  There is nothing better in the whole world than a relationship with Jesus.  Second to Him, there is nothing better than a strong loving marriage and children that will rise up and call you blessed.  Love your husbands each and every day.  Love your children and your grandchildren.  Love those around you.

We aren't guaranteed tomorrow.  Love like there won't be one!

  1. We could always use a little bit more love! That's been one of my New Year's resolutions! To love more! Especially when you want to hold a grudge or you get angry!!
