Yummy (and easy) Homemade Donuts
Ingredients:
Donuts
1 roll biscuits
vegetable oil
Glaze
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 tsp salt
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Oil should be 1 1/2 inches deep. Cut donut holes out of center of biscuit dough.
If you don't have a pastry cutter a frosting tip works well.
Fry donuts until golden brown on one side ( 1 1/2 to 2 minutes).
Use chopsticks or two wooden spoons to turn donuts. Fry an additional 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
Transfer donuts to a plate lined with paper towels.
Mix up glaze ingredients in large bowl. Allow donuts to cool for a couple of minutes, then dip in glaze. Serve warm. Yummy!

My husband loves to make these on campouts. As a matter of fact he just made them last weekend. He cooks them in a dutch oven over an open fire. They are a treat! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I need to get a Dutch oven.
DeleteI'm planning on starting the Trim Healthy Mama plan in the next few weeks, probably after Easter. So I'm going to indulge in all things I probably won't be able to have. These look SOOOO GOOOOOD!!! The pastry we bought from Ethan was delicious too but we just needed about 3 of them. Sammy ordered my favorite and it was wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely try these, Missy. Your family would love them! :)
