It is always exciting to see God working in the lives of your children. Last night we had a special time studying in Proverbs during our family Bible time. We read chapter four followed by a time of discussion and I was very encouraged by the children's comments. It was pointed out that verse 23 tells us what to do with our hearts, verse 24 tells us what to do with our mouths, verse 25 tells us what to do with our eyes and verse 26 tells us what to do with our feet. My husband and I could not have been happier when we tucked all of the children into bed a little while later. It feels so wonderful when you know the kids "get it". One sweet boy prayed tonight that he would honor God with his heart. This boy has had a lot pulling at his heart lately (as most teenagers do) and we have been praying for him! Just yesterday my husband had said he wanted to fast and he wanted us to get down on our knees and pray for this child. Tonight this boy opened up to us, and to God, about his heart and we were incredibly grateful! Allow me to encourage you, if you are not already, to have a time of Bible reading and prayer each day with your family. There is nothing better you could do with your children. My husband and I always mention how wonderful it is that while we are teaching the children, we are actually learning from them. God's word is alive! Reading it together as a family will bless your life and the lives of your family members. It's an awesome thing to see God open the eyes of your child's heart!
Moving on to today, it's another busy day at our house and I bet things are busy at your house too. Don't let the "busy" carry you away! Take time to pray and ask God for what you need. He desires to give good gifts to His children. Stop and hug your children and tell them how much you love them. Make sure to carve out time in your day to read books, play some learning games, and cuddle the kiddos. Are you dressed? Do you know what is for dinner? If not, stop and take care of those things now. If you are dressed and you know what's for dinner then here is the Clean Before Spring assignment (this can be done during the littles' nap time or even after the kids are asleep for the night) wipe down and clean five doors. Using a cloth and soapy water, wipe off the fingerprints and other grime from the doors of your choice. Depending on the color of your doors this may or may not be a problem at your house. Our doors are white and let me just say, they are dirty. I'm going to shine them up today and get them c-l-e-a-n. Will you be joining me?
Have a terrific Tuesday!
Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put devious lips far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead, And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet, And your ways will be established. Proverbs 4:23-26
