Bedtime Challenge

H O W can it be the second day of August??  How?

Like it or not, the end of summer fun and freedom is coming.

We've gotten into some bad habits that we surely must break before we get back into the swing of school.  The worst of those habits is staying up too late at night.

For the next two weeks I am going to really work on our family schedule.  It's so very out of whack!  I've learned that everything hinges on what time I go to bed the night before.  Sooo...I'm going to post what time I go to bed and what time I get up and I would love-love-love if you would too!  You can post in the comment section.  Each time you do your name goes into a drawing for a super cool prize!!  (More on that later!!)  *Make sure you join this site so you are eligible for drawings.*

My initial goal is to get into bed by 11 p.m. and to be up by 6 a.m.  Eventually I would like to be in bed by 10 p.m. and be up at 5 a.m. but with this house full of teenagers getting into bed by 10 p.m. is going to be a real challenge. And no matter how late I get into bed, a sweet little three year old is waking me up early the next morning.  Older kids stay up late, young ones get up early, Mom winds up burning the candle at both ends, (spelled- exhausted).

What is your ideal sleep schedule?  What time do you get up each morning?  What time do you wake your kids up?  Inquiring minds want to know!

If getting enough sleep or getting to bed at a decent hour is a struggle for you then please join me in this "Bedtime Challenge".  We have a few scheduling issues but I know the first one to work on is bedtime.  I'm positive we can't get the other parts of our schedule working right until I start getting to bed earlier.

What is your biggest scheduling hiccup?

  1. I have to work on this also with the kids starting back to school this coming week. Since I stopped working I have been getting to bed around 2am and getting up around 9 or 10. I have to get better because the schedule makes me feel bad!!!

    1. I understand that. I can easily stay up until 2 a.m. I find I get a lot of work done after the kids are in bed for the night. I will start working on something at 11 p.m. or so and then stay up for hours. I like to get up early in the mornings to get a good start on the day but if I do I feel major tired. I'm really going to work at going to bed at 11p.m. this week.

  2. this is just the thing I'm trying to work on! I am a night owl... nighttime after my 5 year old is in bed is time for my husband and I to stay up catching up on our favorite shows, playing a board game, chatting about the day. With starting homeschool in a month I really need to try getting to bed at 11:00 so I can be up no later then 7am to get some housework done before the school day starts. I am not a morning person at all and pretty much can't get a sentence together before 9 am haha in hoping going to bed a little earlier with atleast help me get through the day less tired :) good luck to both you ladies! we can do this! :D
