People keep asking me when I'm starting school back. After one of my friends shared this awesome link with me I think I know my answer. Our first week of school is going to be Shark Week. Awesome sauce!!
As for my bedtime challenge, here's where we stand. Saturday night I went to bed at 12:40 a.m. I got up Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. Good news - I got 6 1/2 hours sleep. Bad news - It is not good to wake up at 7:30 a.m. if you are trying to get 8 people out the door by 9 a.m. And I don't mean any ole "out the door". On Sundays everyone has on their nice clothes which require ironing (more often than not) and I require makeup and hair. Little girls need bows and people want to eat. It's not nice to yell on your way to the Lord's house either. Again, I should have gone to bed earlier. I must.
Sunday night I went to bed at 11:30 p.m. I was really proud of myself as this was closer to my bedtime goal. It took just a little while to fall asleep since I was totally worn out. Monday morning, sadly, I slept until 7:30 a.m. again. My honey turned off the alarm at 6 a.m. I heard it. I heard him get in the shower and I smelled coffee brewing, but I could. not. move. He slipped out and left me in the dark peaceful room all alone. I fell back asleep and woke up at 7:30!! He was so happy and proud of himself for getting out of there without waking me up, as he thinks I need more sleep, but I was pretty bummed because I think I need more hours in my morning.
Last night and today don't even count. I got almost no sleep last night. My husband has developed an infection from his surgery and is not doing well. He spent the night hurting and I spent the night worrying. I attempted to go to bed at 1:30 a.m. but didn't fall right to sleep. I got up at 7:30 a.m.
This challenge is not going well so far but it is going to get better! Lord willing I will be up by 6 a.m. the rest of the week.
How is the challenge going for you??
Before I go, here are a few other little things I wanted to pass along...
Did you know Doorposts is having a summer sale? I got a cool freebie last night. Head over to the Homegrown Cozy facebook page and get the information (and the coupon code). And while you are there please give us a "like" too, if you haven't already.
Every now and then I read something I like to share with my readers. Here's an article I read a while back that I liked and thought maybe you would too - "To the Lady Ashamed to be Pregnant with Her Fourth". If you have a minute perhaps you may want to read it.
Lastly, this. I like it.
Make it a cozy day!!
