Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli

I tried a new recipe last night (found it here) and it was so good I had to share.  My family absolutely loved it.  You gotta GOTTA try it!

Crock Pot Beef & Broccoli

1 lb boneless beef chuck roast sliced into thin strips.
1 cup beef consomme
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water

Place beef in crock pot.  In a small bowl combine consomme, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and garlic.  Mix well and pour over beef.  Cook on low 6 - 8 hours.

In a cup, stir cornstarch and water until smooth.  Add to crock pot.  Stir well to combine.  Blanch broccoli and add to crock pot.  Stir.  Cover and cook 20 more minutes.  Serve over white rice.  Delish!

(I tripled this recipe to feed my family of 8, which includes 3 teenage boys and a hungry husband.  Everyone was very full and we had a tiny bit leftover.  Hope that helps your planning.)

  1. Hi Stephanie. It would be great if you linked this in to Food on Friday which is about slow cooker/crockpot dishes this week. Have a good one.

Ps I haven't seen your follow back yet - do you follow with GFC or some other way??
