Pinkalicious Deco Mesh Wreath

I just finished up my first Deco Mesh wreath and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.  I made it to hang on the front door for Olivia's birthday party this weekend.  She is all about some pink so this wreath will let the party guests know exactly what they are in for right away.

This wreath was pretty easy to make.  I have all kinds of ideas now about the future of my relationship with Deco Mesh (from here on referred to as DM).  We met during Christmas while I was working at Hobby Lobby.  It really was love at first sight.  I invited DM to my house right away and now I keep thinking of reasons to keep DM here.  DM is very easy to work with and nice to look at.  DM and I will hopefully continue our relationship long into the future.

If there is a right or wrong way to make a Deco Mesh wreath I don't know about it.  I will share with you what I did.

I spray painted this wreath form pink just in case it was visible anywhere.  I figured it would look a little better if it was pink instead of green.

Next, I tied pink pipe cleaners (I think officially called Chenille Wires) all around the wreath form.  I spaced them approximately 1 1/2 inches apart.

I started with the end of the Deco Mesh and pinched it up and tied it on.  After that I bunched up the Deco Mesh and tied it with the pipe cleaners all the way around the wreath.  Just once around was pretty but I wanted my wreath a little fuller so I went around a second time with a different color.  I finished it off with some "bobbles" I have picked up recently to give it a little extra bling.

Hopefully this party will be pinkalicious!

  2. Great job. It is beautiful. I have seen wreaths made with DM before and they were very expensive. Yours looks better than any of them. Perhaps you need to make some TN ones and sell them!

  3. I really like this. I might try it but I'm not too crafty so I would hate to flop it. Maybe I'll try some Spring colors! I think I've read that book many years ago that you spoke of in an earlier post. If it's the one I'm thinking of it was a while back but very good!!! Are you doing a group study with it?

  4. Hi Missy! You could definitely do the wreath. It is easier than you think. Spring colors would be great! I was actually thinking of making a spring one myself.

I would like to do the Bible study with a group but as of right now I am doing it alone. If I can get some ladies together that would be wonderful. There are several Bible studies going on in connection with the church we are visiting so most of the women I know are involved with those.

I cannot BELIEVE we have not managed to get to guitar lessons with the Christmas present! I still haven't brought the boys to lessons myself, like I thought I would be. Jeff has been able to take them until last Thursday and then his Mom was here visiting and she took them. I think I will be bringing them this week and I will be sure to bring the gift. Good grief! We are a bit unorganized these days! There are lots of changes going on around here.
