A Decaf Monday and #12

What a Monday it has been already!  I've cleaned up spilled milk (and no, I didn't cry over it) I've given a head-to-toe oatmeal covered baby a hose down bath, I've spent almost 2 hours cleaning my disaster of a kitchen and I've started climbing Mount Washmore.  I've been drinking decaf coffee this morning and I don't even have to tell you how well that goes with a Monday.  Especially a Monday morning that follows a Sunday night that I stayed up way too late.  And before you go thinking I've made some kind of switch to decaf for health reasons let me assure you I am not drinking decaf by choice.  We had only a tiny bit of regular coffee left and the hubs used it to make a fresh pot first thing this morning, but the coffee maker leaked all over the place and the only way I was going to get any of it would have been to lick it off the counter top.  Needless to say, it's one of those Mondays.

I'm going to level with you.  I don't know what to do today towards cleaning before spring.  It's almost lunch time and I'm just now feeling like I've got the house in order enough to really do anything.  I can't concentrate on teaching school if the house is a crazy mess.  I like to give the children independent work when I need to run around tidying up.  I've got plenty of worksheets to keep them busy, and hey, since it's President's Day coloring a picture of George Washington is certainly in order.  Our oldest boys left this morning at 8:30 to go to music lessons so I've had some of their chores to tend to also.  I miss them when they are not here, and not just for the way they help with everything.  They make me smile and laugh and they are amazing with their younger siblings and it's just not the same when all of the birds are not in the nest.

Anywho...I think for today we will straighten up our homes and rescue them from the weekend, we will crank up the laundry and keep it moving, we will put something in our crock-pots for dinner, and we will clean out two more drawers.  It doesn't take a lot of time to clean out a drawer but the results are wonderful.  You may want to start back where you left off the last time we cleaned out two drawers or you may want to move to a different location.  Throw away the things that are trash, donate and give away the things you don't need, and organize the rest.  You can't organize clutter so get rid of it.  You will make better use of whatever is in those drawers if you can see what you've got.  Mary Elizabeth has a great tutorial on how to organize your t-shirt drawer HERE.

I must head to the store now to buy some regular coffee before this decaf REALLY throws off my groove!

  2. Hey there!!! You once told me, drinking decaf is like drinking muddy water. I am surprised you even had decaf in the house girl.
    Love you,
    Teresa
